About learning English
Hello everyone!
In this post I’m going to talk about my experience learning
english at university and some other things.
My first experience learning English in college was in
science faculty when I was pursuing another degree. These courses were very
similar to the English classes at school, we worked with a book that we had to
complete throughout the semester and it was very focused on English gramar, a
bit with a dynamic of learning by repetition. Since the course was designed for
“hard science” careers, it was much more focused on a scientific language. The
teacher who made these subjects (there were two, English 1 and 2) is an excellent
teacher and she taught us things about pronunciation and how certain words were
understood depending on the context. Regarding my current experience, I have
liked much more this dynamic in wich we learn English by “doing”, that is,
listening to the teachers speak in English and giving instructions in the
language, having to speak English and also having to write it. Personally, I
learn better by interacting with the language in this way than by doing more “mechanical”
work.
From what I have pointed out, the blog has seemed like a
super Good learning tool, buy I must admit that among so many things to do in
the university, they were transformed into more academic load, especially
because there is little time to present it, so I did not enjoy it so much of
the writing of all the posts as I would have liked. However, as I really enjoy
writing, it was interesting to do so on topics as diverse as those we have
discussed. The blog helped me a lot to learn about writing in English.
I think that pronunciation and gramar are my weakest aspects
in English. I think that the first thing can be worked on by daring more to speak
English in public and singing more songs in English jajaja. Regarding gramar, I
think it would help me to watch videos in English with subtitles in the same
language and read texts.
Currently, I use English to watch series and many times it
is necessary to read texts for university assignments or material handed out by
teachers.
Since this is the last post, I say goodbye and wish you a good end of the semester 😊 Cheer up, the holidays are coming!!
I find it unbelievable that people who learned English only by watching English series when they were little, I don't understand it. But, still, watching series in English helps a lot with fluency and sharpening the ear.
ResponderEliminarI have told me that watch videos in English with subtitles in the same language is a good way to learn English!
ResponderEliminarLike you, I apply English to watch series and read texts for university assignments.
ResponderEliminarI think the same as you! It is important to learn a language in constant interaction :D
